Curriculum Performance Evening

Most of the work presented this evening has been created, choreographed and directed by students.

Original Performance
Two companies of Year 2 Students perform their devised Original Performances in their very last unit assessment for the OCR Level 3 Extended Diploma qualification (Unit 33 Original Performance). Working from a choice of 2 stimuli, the groups have spent 8 weeks, researching, planning, creating and rehearsing their performances to last between 15 and 30 mins. 

Director Pieces
Year 2 Acting students present their final pieces of coursework for Unit 12 Theatre Directing. Students have selected text, edited scripts, rehearsed and directed their peers to produced a final performance of their chosen play. Plays must be performed and marked in front of a live audience.

Year 2 Acting and Foundation students perform this lively, funny and outspoken drama for their final acting project.

This performance contains content intended for a mature teenage audience and includes:

  • Exploration of sexual identity and adolescent relationships

  • Mild strong language and emotionally sensitive subject matter

  • Themes of self-discovery and personal conflict

Citizenship is presented as part of Kingsclere Performing Arts College's commitment to socially relevant theatre and educational exploration of youth identity. The production is designed to encourage thoughtful reflection and inclusive discussion.
Viewer discretion is advised. Pastoral support is available following the performance for students who wish to talk about the themes explored.
